Q & A On Refilling Inkjet Cartridges
In an effort to please everybody (haha) I've decided to talk a little about refilling cartridges. A very interesting article follows
that addresses many commonly asked questions about refilling cartridges. I hope you enjoy it
as much as I did.
On another note I received a very interesting newsletter from one of our cartridge remanufacturers. Here is a quote that I'd like to share with you.
"Many of our readers have started encouraging their customers to throw out their Lexmark printers and buy HP. They explain to them that the cost of buying a new HP printer is often cheaper than replacing their Lexmark cartridges. By the time they take into account the sometimes scarce availability of Lexmark cartridges and their comparatively higher prices many customers see the logic and switch.
We always strongly recommend HP printers just for their durability. It is not uncommon for a Lexmark printer to quit working in our factory in less then two weeks. Granted we demand extraordinary things from these printers but the HP's will often last six months. Quite a difference!"
Wow. That's really fascinating. Here is another fact to note. Lexmark is now
buying back inkjet cartridges and refilling them. Then they sell them as new!
This makes it MUCH more difficult for remanufacturers to get their hands on
empty Lexmark cartridges. That is precisely why we have such a hard time keeping any Lexmark cartridges in stock AND If we can get them at all.
To be sure, Lexmark's greed will catch up with them in the end. Ironically, the
new Dell printers are made by Lexmark. This will be interesting to watch as
the final scenario plays out. It will be like the clash of the Titans. Dell worked
very hard to get their name and Lexmark may very well drag them down.
